Kylian Mbappe is Real Madrid's newest superstar, and after a lot of struggles, he finally started making sense, with goals left, right and centre.
However, what he did against Alaves on Sunday afternoon was anything but superstar like.
If you live under a rock, Mbappe picked up a straight red card for a diabolical challenge on Alaves player Antonio Blanco in Real Madrid's first win in three matches.
The problem is not just that he has picked up a red card like this. The problem is also the repurcussions.
Real Madrid are in a really bad state right now where although they are technically alive in all competitions, things are looking bleak.
Real Madrid are four points behind Barcelona with only a handful of games left. They have one leg out of the Champions League, trailing Arsenal 3-0 in their quarterfinal tie.
They are also in the final of the Copa Del Rey, but they face Barcelona, who have scored nine goals against them in the two games these sides have played this season.
Now, the problem is exactly that.
If Kylian Mbappe is suspended for four games, he will miss the Copa Del Rey final between Real Madrid and Barcelona
if it is just three games, he will not miss the Copa Del Rey final even though it is the third game. But the four-match ban translates to all domestic competitions, meaning he would have to sit out a Copa Del Rey game as well.
Real Madrid have been put in this weird position because Mbappe did not handle his cool. Yes, Alaves' players were trying to get into his head and foul him, but that does not give him the right to go for a foul as bad as that one.
He was nowhere near the ball, and he was looking at the player while he fouled him. It was shocking, and it deserved nothing less than a red.
Real Madrid expect more from a player like him. They want him to be more mature than he is showing. Mbappe wants to be the leader of this team, but he needs to start acting like one.
