Liverpool have reportedly tabled a €50m offer to sign Aurélien Tchouaméni from Real Madrid in the January transfer window.
Liverpool and Real Madrid are more than familiar with one another. Despite playing in two separate countries, the two sides have formed quite the rivalry in recent years. Of course, the meetings in the Champions League are where it began but transfer proceedings have added fuel to the fire.
Unless you have been living under a rock, you will be aware of Real Madrid's transfer pursuit of Trent Alexander-Arnold. Ideally, they would like to sign him from Liverpool in January but it's more likely that they'll sign him for free when his Liverpool deal expires in the summer.
Still, Liverpool hope to get the first laugh.

According to a report from Fichajes, Liverpool have now tabled an offer worth €50m for Aurélien Tchouaméni. The deal would see Liverpool pay €35m now and then €15m in the summer.
It remains to be seen where Real Madrid stand on the situation, however, it can be said that this isn't the first time Real Madrid have been approached for Tchouaméni. Indeed, the versatile midfielder is often linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
The Spanish report states that the outcome of this bid will be decided within the next few weeks. It is believed that the negotiations which will take place could determine Tchouaméni's future. Therefore, Real Madrid fans are encouraged to stay away from expecting a quick turnaround here.
Tchouaméni is a brilliant midfielder. He has offered a lot to Real Madrid and if he were to leave, then he would leave with his head held high. However, we would be remiss not to mention that it would leave a bittersweet taste in the mouth of Real Madrid fans.
After all, a telling theme of Tchouaméni's time in the Spanish capital has been "what if?". He has shown a knack to improve but he's often left a lot to be desired in his performances.
Maybe it's the high expectations of Real Madrid talking here but Tchouaméni has never been within the crème de la crème of Real Madrid.
