Manchester United keen to sign long-term Real Madrid target
Manchester United find themselves staring at another rebuild after sacking Erik ten Hag. The Dutch manager brought silverware back to Old Trafford but their terrible form this season could no longer be overlooked by the club. Now, Ruben Amorim seems to be closing in on being appointed their next head coach. Expect plenty of signings to be made to back him and they seem to be eyeing a long-term Real Madrid target.
Amorim has proven himself to be a serial winner in Portugal. The same thing could have been said about Ten Hag with Ajax though. So, let's see how things turn out for Manchester United.
As reported by CaughtOffside, Manchester United are keen on Alphonso Davies. But they may turn to Ben Chilwell as a more realistic and affordable option due to the Canadian international wanting a contract worth as much as €12 million a year.
Of course, Davies has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for years now. And with his Bayern Munich contract set to run out next summer could be the best chance to bring him in as a free agent.

Real Madrid have done a great job of signing top players as free agents. Kylian Mbappe, Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba, all arrived after they were out of contract. Could Davies be next?
Davies could be the long-term solution for Real Madrid at left-back. Ferland Mendy will turn 30 next summer and has had plenty of injury problems over the years. On the other hand, Fran Garcia just does not seem like someone who can develop into a starter for Los Blancos.
One could argue that Davies' trajectory has plateaued as well over the last few years. But perhaps a change of scenery is exactly what he needs.
