Real Madrid fans were dealt with a shock to the system over a month ago. Despite largely knowing that this could be Luka Modric's last season at the club, everyone was still shocked when it was announced.
Soon after, reports started coming out about Modric aiming to go to another top club, and not to Saudi Arabia or MLS for a retirement plan, as he wants to keep performing at the top level.
Milan soon came along and signed him as a free agent, leaving Real Madrid fans sad and weeping, despite it being a good deal for the legend.
Now, Milan want more. Real Madrid saw a much improved version of Fran Garcia under Xabi Alonso, so much so that it changed the entire season for the player.
Real Madrid must not let Fran Garcia go to Milan
He was one of Real Madrid's best performing players in the Club World Cup, and according to a report from Matteo Moretto, Milan also want him.
They have shown interest in the player, and have enquired about him. There were no contacts as of today, according to the reliable journalist. However, they just want to know whether the player would be open to leaving Real Madrid in the summer.
It is also not clear whether Real Madrid would let him go. Honestly, they shouldn't. In Garcia and new signing Alvaro Carreras, they have two good left-back choices at the club. They also have Ferland Mendy at the club, but the Frenchman has become more and more unreliable after every passing season.
So, having these two would set Real Madrid up well for the next decade or so. Carreras can start, and Garcia can also replace him in the lineup whenever needed. Hell, they both can coexist too, which is brilliant.
If there is anyone they should sell, it is probably Mendy, but if they can't sell him, it's better to keep all three because Fran should definitely stay at the club next season.
