Real Madrid is a club that tends to have a stockpile of young talent available to them whether it be in their first team, or developing in their academy.
This is beneficial to the club so they can have players to call on in case of an injury crisis who then get the chance to showcase why they are a part of Real Madrid at such a young age.
For Real Madrid, that player this season has been centre-back Raul Asencio. The academy product has been called on this season after the season-ending ACL injury to Eder Militao and has shown his class on the biggest stages for Los Blancos. The youngster has a play style and intensity very similar to Sergio Ramos, which has garnered Asencio many new fans.
The impact that the Spaniard has had on Real Madrid has not gone unnoticed and has caught the eye of many teams, especially from the Premier League. One team in particular is preparing a hefty bid for the central defender and surprisingly, Real Madrid is considering the offer.
Nottingham Forest make surprising €40 million offer for Real Madrid defender
As reported by Fichajes, Premier League side Nottingham Forest are preparing a surprising €40 million offer for Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio and the club are considering making a deal.
Asencio has risen through the ranks this season at Real Madrid due to the ongoing injury crisis plaguing the defence. However, once all the regular starters return to fitness, playing time will surely be limited for Asencio. This lack of guaranteed minutes could cause the 21-year-old to asses his options away from the Bernabeu.
It remains to be seen if Real Madrid would sanction his departure in the summer transfer window. With the lack of defensive depth at the club, any potential sale of the central defender would not be in the clubs best interest in the long term. While €40 million would be a significant influx of money for such a young talent, the money may not be worth it in the end.
