After making four brilliant signings, Real Madrid are now trying to find homes for the players who may not want to stay.
Even though the rumours around potential exits have died down a little bit in the last few weeks, there could still be a big, big surprise exit before the transfer window shuts.
Of course, that's just my opinion. But in this day and age, anything can happen - even in the last few days of the window.
Real Madrid could lose out on a player like Rodrygo. It's not confirmed, it’s not speculation. But it could happen.
Now Liverpool, on the other hand, have been showing a lot of interest in players.
They're eyeing Alexander Isak, who could join them this summer. Their Plan B to Isak, according to Fabrizio Romano, is Bradley Barcola from PSG.
The dominoes start involving Real Madrid because of one player only. I think you can guess the player I am talking about.
Do PSG even want to negotiate with Real Madrid after the Kylian Mbappe saga?
Fabrizio also said that if Barcola leaves PSG for Liverpool, then PSG could go for Rodrygo as a replacement.
I'm fine with Rodrygo leaving Real Madrid if he wants to leave. That’s been reported before, and if that is the case, then I’m absolutely fine with the possibility of the Brazilian moving somewhere else.
However, I just don’t know if PSG would be right, for two reasons.
First, I don’t think Real Madrid would get the €100 million they want from PSG. I don’t think PSG would cater to that price tag.
Second, I’m pretty sure PSG don’t like Real Madrid in the slightest - because of the whole Kylian Mbappé situation in the past.
Why would they want to “solve a problem” for Madrid?
Rodrygo, even if he wants to stay, still presents a bit of a problem. He’s a big player. And we may not see him play a lot under Xabi Alonso, who hasn’t used him much so far.
Frankly, he hasn’t looked that good on the right anyway. If you keep him around, his value drops.
Why would PSG want to help? Sure, it helps them, but would they accept Madrid’s valuation for Rodrygo?
I don’t know. However, my gut tells me PSG wouldn’t be good negotiating partners for Real Madrid.
It remains to be seen what happens, though. You never know with this market.
It would benefit PSG. They’d get a really good replacement. Possibly a better player than Bradley Barcola. So it’s all still wide open.
Whoever thought this Rodrygo chapter was over - it isn’t. Not yet, anyway.
