Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has not played a single minute of the Club World Cup so far.

Real Madrid have only played one game, but Mbappe was out due to a fever, missing the entire match.

It was eventually found that the player was suffering from acute gastroenteritis, and had to be hospitalised for further tests and evaluations.

However, there have been a few positive updates since. Real Madrid announced that he has been discharged from the hospital, and will continue specific treatment to improve his health.

There is now another update from Arancha Rodriguez, who has talked about the state of Mbappe on X recently.

Rodriguez said that Kylian Mbappe feels better, and is now doing some aerobic exercise in the hotel today.

Obviously, it is way too soon for him to be training, so it is a bit unfortunate that the timing of the injury was as bad as it was.

It is also highly likely - and should be well known - that he will probably miss the game against Pachuca on Sunday. It is only my assumption, but it makes a lot of sense during this time.

Real Madrid would need Mbappe's survices in the latter stages of the competition, as Los Blancos get ready to face the world's elite teams.

They did get slightly carved open by Al-Hilal, but we are willing to look past that since it has only been a few days since Alonso started working.

The team could have used Mbappe's brilliance on the pitch, and they also could have used his leadership. I mean, it would have made Alonso's job easier if he had just scored a goal or two.

Be that as it may, the hope is that Mbappe plays the most important matches of the tournament - granted Real Madrid reach that far - and it remains to be seen when the Frenchman can rejoin full training.
