The one name which sticks out above the rest when it comes to Toni Kroos replacements is Nicolo Barella of Italy. The Inter Milan star is having a phenomenal EURO 2024 campaign himself, scoring a wonder goal in Italy's opener against Albania at the weekend. Depending on how the rest of his tournament goes, his stock value could sky-rocket.

That said, Real Madrid have the funds to sign a player of Barella's quality. As reported earlier in the month, the Spanish club is showing a keen interest in signing Barella in the summer transfer window.

Still, it must be said that the rumoured figure of €80m is above Real Madrid's usual budget. While a signing of this magnitude would certainly build on the Kylian Mbappe hype, it is the least realistic of the three options. Still, stranger things have happened...
