It can be said with absolute certainty that Toni Kroos will not play for Real Madrid next season. The club legend who has only improved with age feels like 2024 is the year to step down from both club and international football, a decision which Real Madrid respects.
In Toni Kroos' final game as a Real Madrid player, he provided an assist, lifted the Champions League trophy and received a standing ovation. If this does not paint the entire picture of Toni Kroos' incredible career, then nothing ever will.
From Real Madrid's perspective, they could look for a replacement in the 2024 summer transfer window but this isn't an absolute necessity. After all, Kroos played a rotational role throughout the final year of his Real Madrid career, so Real Madrid likely prepared for his retirement a long time ago. As things stand, Dani Ceballos is prepped to step up with a more important squad role.
