3. Andriy Lunin

More so in the second half of the season, Andriy Lunin finally had his Real Madrid breakthrough. Amid the unfortunate injury to Thibaut Courtois, it was the backup goalkeeper Andiry Lunin who shined the most between the sticks, despite Kepa Arrizabalaga also being at the club on loan.

Notably, it was Lunin's performances in the Champions League which made Ancelotti realise he was the man to step up and boy did he step up. Lunin has made 24 starts across all competitions for Real Madrid this season, impressing in almost every one of them. For context, he made just nine starts last season.

Time will tell what happens to Carlo Ancelotti's hierarchy when Thibaut Courtois returns from his injury spell. It certainly looks likely that Andriy Lunin will be offered a contract extension, since his great performances have changed Ancelotti's mind on the backup goalkeeper.
