5. Toni Kroos (€25m)
The most expensive player on this list but to call Toni Kroos a bargain transfer would be a complete and utter understatement. Retiring from the club in 2024, Toni Kroos provided an assist and received a standing ovation as he lifted the Champions League in his final game as a club professional. If that doesn't paint the whole picture of Kroos, nothing will.
Signed from Bayern Munich in 2014, everybody knew he would be a star since he was already established but not many could foresee him leaving behind the legacy he left, let alone playing at the highest level on a consistent basis right until the end of his career.
Real Madrid paid €25m, which they would pay 10 times over to rewind time just to watch Kroos play again. A player who revolutionised what it meant to be a midfielder with his incredible range of passing, combined with his composure and leadershup qualities, Kroos is one of the greatest Real Madrid players of all-time. It only took €25m to unearth a future legend.
