Arsenal and Liverpool transfer target wants to join Real Madrid
Real Madrid are always on the lookout for top talents although they have been much more selective in recent years when it comes to making signings. One area where they might look to strengthen in the near future is their midfield. Toni Kroos retired at the end of last season and was not replaced in the summer, as Los Blancos did not make an addition in the middle of the park.
On the other hand, clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool are believed to be looking at midfielders as well. One player they have been heavily linked with in recent times is Martin Zubimendi.
Zubimendi has been considered one of the best midfielders in La Liga for a while. He currently plays for Real Sociedad, and it is somewhat surprising that he has remained there despite there being so much interest in his signature.
Now, it looks like the midfielder has made a decision regarding his next destination. As reported by TBR Football, Zubimendi has decided that he wants to join Real Madrid.

At 25 years of age, Zubimendi is in a prime position to seal a move away from Real Sociedad. He is approaching his prime years on the pitch and should move to a club where he can compete for trophies on a consistent basis.
Of course, Real Madrid would fill that criteria. That being said, is Zubimendi someone who would start in Los Blancos' stacked midfield department?
There could be another vacancy in midfield at Real Madrid soon though. Luka Modric turned 39 years of age a few weeks back. He was widely expected to leave in the summer but ended up extending his stay in the Spanish capital. Unfortunately, sooner or later, he will have to depart. That is the nature of football. Of life.
