Real Madrid have some players whose long-term futures at Santiago Bernabeu are uncertain. In the case of most, it is because they are not playing much football for Carlo Ancelotti's side. One of them is performing at a high level right now though. But it looks like it is possible that he could leave at the end of the campaign.
The player in question is none other than Andriy Lunin. Based on his recent performances, the 24-year-old might have moved ahead of Kepa in the goalkeeping pecking order at the club and established himself as the number one.
That might be for a very short period of time though. When Thibaut Courtois returns from his ACL injury, he is expected to be placed as the number one from the get-go. That means that Lunin will be back to square one despite his good performances.
As a result, it would be understandable if Lunin wants to leave next summer. And as reported by SPORT, there will be no shortage of offers and one of them could be from Bayern Munich, which has knocked on his door.
Bayern Munich look to sign in-form Real Madrid player
Manuel Neuer is 37 years of age. He is one of the greatest players in the history of the game but Bayern Munich will need to start looking for his long-term replacement soon. Could Lunin be that player?
Of course, Bayern Munich are not the only club to be linked with Lunin lately. Chelsea and Celtic are two others believed to hold an interest in the goalkeeper.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Lunin at Real Madrid. There is a feeling that he could choose to leave, especially as his good run of form has raised the interest of many clubs around Europe.
