Real Madrid have won three games on the trot and Kylian Mbappe has been finding the back of the net as well. That is great news for Los Blancos. But at the same time, one cannot ignore the issues that they have faced so far in this campaign. It has been smooth sailing for Carlo Ancelotti's side, to be honest.

The results have improved but the performances need to as well. And it looks like Ancelotti is mulling over making some tweaks to his system in the coming weeks.

As reported by MARCA, Ancelotti's first conclusion is that Real Madrid need to look at playing with four midfielders. The aim is to achieve the balance that seems to be lacking. It won't be in every game, but the idea will start to be implemented soon, especially away from the Santiago Bernabeu and in highly demanding games.

The change in formation will bring with it the departure of one of the players up front from the starting XI. Who could that be?

Of course, a 4-4-2 will not be alien to this Real Madrid team. They used that formation for the majority of last season and considering it brought them a Champions League and La Liga double, it is safe to say that it did its job.

If Real Madrid did indeed revert back to that system, it would be interesting to see who ends up getting dropped. The most likely candidate is Rodrygo.

But then, Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe are very similar style of players. Would there be more of a balance up front by playing one of them with Rodrygo, who is more comfortable on the right?

There is zero chance that Mbappe will get dropped. And considering the uncertainty around the future of Vinicius, that possibility should not be completely ruled out.
