Cristiano Ronaldo sends message to Kylian Mbappe after Real Madrid move

Kylian Mbappe will play in the Real Madrid shirt next season. The long-awaited transfer has finally happened. On several occasions in the past, a move had seemed close to happening but never transpired. But with the Frenchman letting his contract with PSG run out and becoming a free agent this summer, the dream switch to Santiago Bernabeu has finally become a reality.

Mbappe grew up as a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid. Thus, this is a dream move for him. He himself described it as a 'dream come true' on Instagram.

The post was accompanied by four throwback pictures and one of them was with Ronaldo himself. So, it was only fitting that the Portuguese legend ended up commenting on the post.

Ronaldo commented on Mbappe's post on Instagram:

"My turn to 👀 Excited to see you light up the Bernabéu. ⚽️💪 #HalaMadrid"

Mbappe must be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Ronaldo and create a legacy at Real Madrid. At 25 years of age, he has not even entered his prime yet and has achieved so much already.

At the international level, Mbappe has already won one World Cup and France were the runners-up in the 2022 edition of the competition. The Frenchman scored a hattrick in the final against Argentina but even that was not enough. as it felt like Lionel Messi's name was meant to be on the trophy.

At the club level, Mbappe still has a lot to do though. He has never won the Champions League and what better place to achieve that goal than at Real Madrid, who won the competition for the 15th time recently, eight more than the next most successful team.

Surely, winning the Ballon d'Or will be a target for Mbappe as well. He has been considered the best player in the world by many fans for years now and yet, that prize has eluded him.
