It looks like Real Madrid are almost certain to sign Kylian Mbappe in the summer. At least that is what some rumours are suggesting at the moment. One thing that is certain is that the Frenchman will be leaving Paris Saint-Germain a few months later when his contract with the club comes to an end. And with every passing day, Santiago Bernabeu looks more and more likely to be his next destination.
There have been some suggestions already that Real Madrid have agreed a verbal deal with Mbappe. It remains to be seen how accurate they prove to be.
There seems to be further positive news about the matter. As reported by Foot Mercato, Florentino Perez has already announced the arrival of Mbappe next season to certain players in the Real Madrid locker room.
That could explain Aurelien Tchouameni's cryptic tweet of two popcorn emojis shortly after reports surfaced regarding Mbappe's contract situation at PSG. Was that a hint?
Perez announces Mbappe move to Real Madrid players
Of course, considering how many twists and turns there have been in the Mbappe transfer saga over the years, no Real Madrid fan would be certain about the move happening until they see the Frenchman holding up the Royal White jersey. That is understandable.
All signs do seem to be pointing towards Mbappe joining Real Madrid though. If it does not end up happening this time around, do not expect it to happen ever again.
Some Premier League teams have been linked with a move for Mbappe as well but there has not been nothing concrete in that regard. At the moment, it does feel like a bit of a one-horse race to sign the French World Cup winner. And while it might be later than expected, it looks like we are going to see him don the Royal White jersey soon.
