Manchester United are a club in need of strengthening. To be fair, their form has improved in recent months but they are still a long distance away from where they want or need to be. One of the areas where they appear to be looking for reinforcements is centre-back and it looks like they want a player who is also high on Real Madrid's transfer wishlist.

Real Madrid are another club in need of strengthening at centre-back. Antonio Rudiger, Nacho and David Alaba are all in the latter portions of their careers. On the other hand, Eder Militao has suffered a serious ACL injury this season and it will be interesting to see whether he will be the same dynamic player when he returns.

Amid all this, one player who has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid is Leny Yoro. They are not the only ones in the race for the talented Lille centre-back though.

As reported by AS, PSG already tried to sign Yoro in the winter. Manchester United are another of the teams who have recently expressed interest in signing the French centre-back.

It is believed that Lille would want a €60 million transfer fee to part ways with Yoro. That might be a steep figure for Real Madrid to shell out next summer, when there already seem to be plans to bring in the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Alphonso Davies.

So, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid make a serious push to sign Yoro. They must be swift as well, with several other teams in the race.

Someone like Yoro could be a central piece of Real Madrid's defence for the next decade-and-a-half to come. That is exactly the type of signing the club have looked to make in recent years.
