Former Barcelona youngster would accept Real Madrid transfer

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, a former Barcelona prodigy who currently represents Getafe has opened himself up to a Real Madrid transfer. In his own words (translated from Spanish to English), Carles Aleñá said: “I would never say no to a club like Madrid. It’s a great club and I’ve always said that I want to play for a big team.”

It is quite a bold claim for the midfielder to make and it would make any of his existing fans who support Barcelona sick to their core. However, Aleñá owes no loyalty to Barcelona, having left the club in 2021.

Aleñá has made a total of 164 La Liga appearances across his different clubs, even boasting the title with Barcelona in 2019. He is a versatile player who can play in the midfield or out on the wing.

So, should Real Madrid fans be excited about the potential of signing Carles Aleñá? The answer is a resounding NO.

While Carles Aleñá has made it clear he would turn down Real Madrid, it is likely that Real Madrid will turn his interest down. Actually, Los Blancos has shown no interest whatsoever in signing Aleñá, so his comments have came at a strange and unnecessary time.

Real Madrid have no plans to sign a new midfielder in the summer, despite the imminent Toni Kroos retirement. Carlo Ancelotti is happy with the current state of squad depth and he does not need to sign unnecessary players like Aleñá.
