In recent years, Real Madrid have steadily said goodbye to a number of their legends. Not many remain from the iconic Champions League Threepeat team. And that is the nature of football. The faces keep changing but the jersey remains. And could another all-time great head out of the Santiago Bernabeu exit door in the summer?
A lot has been made about the future of Luka Modric and his potential exit next summer. But Toni Kroos' is running down as well.
Kroos has remained a steady performer for Real Madrid this season as well. It is worth remembering though that there were rumours of him considering retirement going back to last season. So, how long will we continue to see him on the pitch even if the club wants to hand him an extension?
Amid all this, there seems to be a new twist in the entire matter. Is it possible that Kroos could play for another club after Real Madrid?
Juventus offered chance to sign Real Madrid superstar
As reported by Calciomercato, Kroos' agents, in the hypothesis of a future away from Real Madrid, would have also tested the waters with Juventus. Having said that, the most probable solution for the German midfielder still seems to be that of a renewal with Los Blancos.
Thus, it looks like Juventus are a possible destination for Kroos, if he was to leave Real Madrid in the summer. It is not hard to see why.
After struggling for a few years, Juventus have managed to rebuild themselves back into Serie A contenders once again. They sit second in the league table right now, behind Inter Milan.
They are a massive club as well. And the idea of playing in another league before retiring might appeal to Kroos. But signing an extension at Real Madrid seems to be the most likely outcome.
