Real Madrid are assembling quite the squad for the future. It is filled with some of the best youngsters from around the world, who will be expected to lead the club for many years to come. Yet, this assimilation is nowhere near complete and the Spanish giants are expected to make more additions over coming transfer windows.

While some areas of the pitch, such as the midfield are no doubt set for the future, there are still a few others that have question marks surrounding them. For example, who will be Real Madrid's long-term number 9?

Ever since Karim Benzema's departure for Al-Ittihad in the summer, those shoes have remained empty. There have been many top-class centre-forwards linked with a potential switch to Real Madrid, however, one name keeps coming up time and again.

That is none other than Kylian Mbappe. A move to Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent next summer has been touted for a while, with his PSG contract set to run out. But there could be a potential stumbling block still to overcome.

Mbappe hands fresh problem to Real Madrid

As reported by SPORT BILD, the salary requirement for a commitment to Real Madrid is €70 million per year. Plus a total of around €125 million, which could be paid as a season bonus over the contract term of five years.

These numbers are astronomical for any player, even for someone of the calibre of Mbappe. It remains to be seen if the two parties are able to reach an agreement over personal terms.

Real Madrid have been linked with Mbappe since his time at AS Monaco but a move has never materialised. It is important that it does this time around. But the numbers involved in making a move happen might lead to them potentially reconsidering the situation.
