Kylian Mbappe has decided to leave PSG and join Real Madrid

Many times, it has felt like the Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid transfer saga has no end. The Frenchman is believed to have grown up supporting Los Blancos and has been linked with a move to the Spanish capital since his time at AS Monaco. Yet, it has not materialised so far. But with his contract at Paris Saint-Germain set to run out in the summer, the finish-line might finally be in sight.

Of course, we have been in a similar situation a couple of years back. And that time around, Mbappe did end up signing an extension with PSG, when most had thought that he was destined to join Real Madrid.

There is no reason that the same could not happen again. But somehow, this time around, it feels different and it is hard to imagine Mbappe not wearing the Royal white jersey come next season.

As reported by Le Parisien, for PSG and various major players in French football, there is no longer room for doubt: Mbappe has decided to leave Ligue 1 at the end of the season and Real Madrid. Even if nothing is signed, everyone thinks he has made his choice. The Frenchman keeps his decision a secret, thinking about the right timing to announce it.

Of course, a lot of conflicting rumours regarding the Mbappe situation have been doing the rounds for months now. So, it remains to be seen what is accurate and what is not.

For the time being, one has to consider Real Madrid the favourites as Mbappe's next destination. The only other club to have been linked with him seriously are Liverpool.

With Jurgen Klopp leaving at the end of the season, it is hard to imagine Mbappe joining Liverpool in a time of uncertainty. So, expect to see him in a Real Madrid jersey.
