Liverpool are eyeing a Real Madrid superstar in their bid to replace Mohamed Salah. It isn't the first time he's been linked with a Liverpool transfer.

Real Madrid have one of the best squads they've ever had in their history. While it is difficult to compare modern times with past times, Carlo Ancelotti himself has said this Real Madrid squad is the best he's ever had.

Many questioned Real Madrid's intentions when they signed Kylian Mbappe and Endrick in the summer transfer window. Indeed, they become very attack-heavy, with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo already in the ranks.

That said, one Real Madrid attacker could definitely leave in the future, through fears of game-time. It is no coincidence, then, that Liverpool have perked up their interest.

According to a report from Fichajes, Liverpool could table an offer close to €100m to sign Rodrygo, as part of their quest to replace Mohamed Salah. Real Madrid are in no hurry to sell, though.

That said, the Spanish outlet claims that Real Madrid are not opposed to selling Rodrygo. This will depend on if the right offer comes in.

This season, Real Madrid are believed to be unhappy with Rodrygo's behaviour behind the scenes. Despite being one of the club's best players this campaign, Rodrygo is known to let his ego get the better of him, which doesn't sit well with Real Madrid staff.

Liverpool are long-term admirers of Rodrygo. In fact, they even tried to sign him before he joined Real Madrid. Even under new management, their interest doesn't seem to have died out.

So, whether or not €100m is enough to convince Real Madrid to sell Rodrygo remains to be seen. However, Liverpool know they are under pressure to sign a superstar to replace Mo Salah, who is believed to be on his way out.

Rodrygo has started five out of seven La Liga fixtures so far this season. In the other two games, he came off the bench at least. In five starts, Rodrygo has scored three league goals and provided an assist.

Rodrygo is not willing to give up his place in the Real Madrid lineup without a fight. He certainly sees himself at the same level as the likes of Vini and Mbappe. So, it'll be interesting to see how his squad role develops between now and the end of the season.
