Liverpool in talks with Real Madrid-linked player
Real Madrid might have clinched their 15th Champions League crown and the La Liga title in the 2023/24 season, but there are still a number of areas where this team could improve upoin moving forward. Perhaps that is a scary thought for clubs around Europe, who are already struggling to keep up with a squad that lacks depth and continuously deals with injury problems.
Right-back is one such area where Real Madrid could do with reinforcements. Dani Carvajal continues to perform at a high level and even scored in the Champions League final.
But, we all know that Father Time is undefeated. Carvajal is 32 years of age and will need to be replaced sooner or later. So, it should not come as a surprise that Real Madrid have been linked with plenty of right-backs in recent times.
One such right-back to be linked with Real Madrid is Trent Alexander-Arnold. And his future at Liverpool seems to be up in the air.
Liverpool in talks with Real Madrid-linked player
As reported by Football Insider, Liverpool are not close to making a breakthrough in their talks over a new contract with Trent. He wants to remain at Anfield and the club are keen to extend his deal. But a deal is not done yet, with the Premier League giants still having some work to do to ensure that his future remains in Merseyside.
The worry for Liverpool might be the fact that there is not a lot of time left on Trent's current deal. It is believed to run out in the summer of 2025.
And if Real Madrid come calling, he might potentially give the idea a thought. Trent has already won everything that there is to win at Liverpool. Would he turn down the opportunity to join the biggest club in the world?
