Real Madrid have brilliant options for now and the future in both their forward line and the midfield department. The same cannot be said about the backline though, which is ageing. Throughout the entire game, Vinicius Junior continuously got the better of him, as the right-back struggled to keep up with his Brazilian international teammate. And as reported by Bernabeu Digital, Couto's performance raised some doubts in the Real Madrid leadership regarding the suitability of signing him.

It is worth remembering that Couto is just 21 years of age while Vinicius is one of the best players in the world on his day. It would be a mistake to define the right-back on the basis of one performance. That being said, it is clear that the youngster still has a lot to learn.
