Real Madrid appear to be very close to making a Galactico signing next summer. After a transfer saga that has run for years, it looks like Kylian Mbappe is going to join the club when his contract with PSG runs out at the end of this season. It goes without saying that that would be a blockbuster addition to an already fantastic squad that is challenging for both the Champions League and La Liga.

Mbappe is not the only world-class player Real Madrid have been linked with in recent times though. Erling Haaland is another one.

Most viewed Haaland as a possible alternate option to Mbappe. But there have been suggestions that Real Madrid could potentially look to have both in their team in the future.

Haaland has been linked with a move to the club's El Clasico rivals, FC Barcelona, recently. But it appears that it is a switch to the Spanish capital that he truly prefers.

Manchester City superstar dreams of Real Madrid

As reported by Tribuna, journalist Sam Lee said on The Athletic Football Podcast:

"I think everybody knows Haaland wants to play for Real Madrid.

"And I don’t think that’s ever really gonna go away.

"But what City can do is keep making it an environment where they wanna stay and play football and obviously earn lots of money."

Haaland is the best goalscorer in the world today. There should be no doubt about that. Harry Kane is close while Robert Lewandowski used to be in his prime, but at the moment, nobody is doing it like the Norwegian.

Haaland has not had the best season by his standards, and has had injury problems as well, but he still has 27 goals to his name by the end of February. Those are unbelievable numbers to say the least.

If Real Madrid were able to sign him, it would have to be considered a major coup for them. You just need to make sure that you give Haaland the right service and he will do the rest.

Of course, there is very little reason for him to even consider leaving Manchester City at this point. You never know in football though.
