Real Madrid appear to have big plans for the upcoming summer transfer window. There has been a lot of talk about Kylian Mbappe finally completing a dream move to Santiago Bernabeu, that too as a free agent. And the Frenchman might not be the only world-class talent arriving in the Spanish capital ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Real Madrid have been linked with several other high-profile players as well. One of them who seems to be inching towards a move to Santiago Bernabeu is Alphonso Davies.

Davies has a little over a year left on his current deal with Bayern Munich. The German club are expected to be open to the idea of him leaving, in the scenario that they fail to agree to an extension with the Canadian international. They surely would not want a repeat of the David Alaba situation.

Davies is one of the best left-backs in the world. It is believed that it would take a transfer fee around €50 million to sign him from Bayern Munich next summer. And if he does arrive at Real Madrid, it could lead to the departure of another.

As reported by MARCA, Real Madrid are working on the arrival of Davies, while Ferland Mendy has one more year left on his contract and there is interest, mainly from Carlo Ancelotti, in renewing it. Given this scenario, Fran Garcia's situation in the squad could be compromised. The club could consider a transfer if the two initial assumptions are met.

Garcia came through the ranks at Real Madrid but had left for Rayo Vallecano. He impressed there and was brought back last summer for a transfer fee believed to be around €5 million.

He has failed to convince since returning to Real Madrid though. On the other hand, Mendy has shown a lot of improvement this season. As a result, it could be the Spaniard who leaves, in case Davies arrives in the summer.
