The Real Madrid squad for the future looks like one of the most formidable Europe has ever seen. The team is filled with world-class talent all over the pitch, most of whom are still in their early to mid-20s. They are the reigning European and Spanish champions and have added Kylian Mbappe and Endrick this summer.

Real Madrid have already answered all the questions when it comes to the future state of the forward line and midfield. However, in defence, there are still some problems that need solving.

Eder Militao is no doubt the centre-back for the future at Real Madrid. But with both Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba in their 30s, the club must start looking at options to partner with the Brazilian international for years to come.

There are a number of top-class centre-back options out there, but Real Madrid were rumoured to have their eyes set on one player in particular: Leny Yoro. Unfortunately, it looks like he is headed to the Premier League.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on Instagram, Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Yoro, and the first part of the medical is done. Lille accepted a proposal of €50 million plus €12 million add-ons last week. The player has informed Real Madrid and they didn’t want to match the offer.

Yoro has been the subject of much transfer speculation this summer as the defender seemed poised for a move to a big club. He was once dubbed the 'next Raphael Varane' and is widely regarded as one of the top centre-back prospects in Europe.

It was rumoured that Yoro preferred a move to Real Madrid over the Premier League. But after the major signings of Mbappe and Endrick this summer, it looks like the Spanish club decided not to splash out on the French youngster.
