Manchester United have already signed one player this summer who was rumoured to be wanted by Real Madrid. That is Leny Yoro. The Frenchman was believed to be near the top of Los Blancos' transfer wishlist but he ended up making the move to Old Trafford. And now, it looks like the Premier League club could have a free run at a French international midfielder as well.

Adrien Rabiot is available as a free agent this summer. His contract at Juventus has run out and unsurprisingly, he is believed to be drawing the interest of top clubs from around Europe.

Real Madrid were believed to be one of the clubs interested in signing Rabiot this summer. But now, it looks like they are out of the race for the Frenchman's signature.

As reported by Football 365, according to reports in Spain, after considering the signing of Rabiot, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has decided that he ‘doesn’t want him’ and a transfer is now ‘ruled out’. This has opened the door for Manchester United.

With Toni Kroos retiring at the end of last season, there is a gap in Real Madrid's midfield. They could have done with someone of Rabiot's experience. He has played extensively for both PSG and Juventus through the course of his career and has made almost 50 appearances for France as well.

But it looks like Real Madrid are happy with the options they do have. That is one thing Los Blancos have shown in recent years. They do not make signings if they are not convinced that the right players are available.

As for Manchester United, it looks like they are in the lead to sign Rabiot this summer. Let's see how things play out over the coming weeks.
