Real Madrid are a club always surrounded by transfer rumours. A lot of players seem to be on the radar of Los Blancos at all times although they are very careful when it comes to actually signing players, only bringing in those they believe are the best of the best. That is a key reason why they have remained one of Europe's best teams even though there are many mid-table Premier League teams who have invested more heavily than them in recent years.

Real Madrid have found a lot of success when it comes to signing Brazilian players. Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Eder Militao are central figures in the team right now. On the other hand, Endrick will be arriving in the summer and is a superstar in the making as well.

Another Brazilian player they have been linked with for quite a while is Bruno Guimaraes, going back to his days at Lyon. Since then, he has proven himself as a top player at the Premier League level with Newcastle United.

A move to Santiago Bernabeu is starting to feel unlikely for Guimaraes though. Firstly, because of the significant transfer fee it would take to make it happen. Secondly, because of the heavy competition they face for his signature.

As reported by talkSPORT, Paris Saint-Germain have held talks with representatives of Guimaraes. The Brazilian midfielder has a £100 million release clause in his contract which expires at the end of June. Manchester City and Real Madrid are also believed to be interested in signing him this summer.

To be honest, it is hard to see an immediate need for someone like Guimaraes in the Real Madrid midfield at this moment in time. They have players like Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, who can play a similar role.

It remains to be seen if Real Madrid make a move for Guimaraes in the summer. It would be a surprise if they do but never say never in football.
