Seeing PSG and Real Madrid mentioned within the same sentence has become a common occurrence over the last few months. Of course, PSG's star player Kylian Mbappe is expected to join Real Madrid this summer, so the two clubs have undeniably been involved in discourse behind the scenes.

However, Paris Saint-Germain have their own motive and they wish to get payback on Real Madrid in their own unique way. See, both clubs are interested in signing the same defender - While Real Madrid fans were confident about signing Leny Yoro from Lille this summer, PSG fans have also envisioned a future with the young defender.

PSG reach shock agreement with Real Madrid transfer target

According to a report from Sports Zone, there is an "agreement in principle" between PSG and LOSC Lille for the signing of Leny Yoro. It is believed that a valuation of just over €50m has been made but Yoro would still prefer to join Real Madrid, should that option become realistic.

Just recently, Real Madrid cooled off their interest in Alphonso Davies and Leny Yoro. This is because they have a current crop of young players coming through the ranks which could benefit Carlo Ancelotti in the long-run. While nobody is denying the incredibly potential which Leny Yoro has, Real Madrid fans must not forget about their own Rafa Marín and Miguel Gutiérrez.

Long story short, Real Madrid are in no rush to spend over the odds on luxury players. They are on the precipice of winning the treble this season (should they beat Borussia Dortmund in the UCL final), with more success expected from Carlo Ancelotti next season.

They have a great squad of players, a squad which Ancelotti recently hailed as "the best squad" he's ever worked with. While the Italian boss is always seeking the next best thing, transfers will be meticulously examined before they are made.

It would be great to see Leny Yoro in the Real Madrid lineup. The 18-year-old has certainly proven himself at the top level, becoming a mainstay in the LOSC lineup. However, as mentioned, Real Madrid are not in a rush to sign him. PSG might be but Real Madrid will not be drawn into a bidding war - That never ends well for anybody.
