Real Madrid have one of the best squads in Europe. Even when Carlo Ancelotti decides to play around with the tactical configuration, he is afforded great flexibility in the depth and quality of the squad.

One player who has greatly benefited from returning to the Santiago Bernabeu this season is Brahim Diaz. The winger spent three seasons on loan at AC Milan and his patience has paid off, since he had a great breakthrough season in the Spanish capital. So far this term, the winger has accumulated 32 appearances across all competitions.

Diaz is versatile as he has played across the front-line and even in the midfield this season. Having a player who is malleable to this level is excellent for Carlo Ancelotti and is a big factor in why he's accumulated many appearances so far this campaign.

According to a report by Cadena SER, Real Madrid have a long-term vision for Brahim Diaz as they are impressed with his patience and think his story could motivate other players within the squad. Therefore, it is believed the club would like to reward Brahim Diaz with a contract extension and a lucrative €1m salary increase.

Florentino Perez is very generous to the players who serve Real Madrid well. Therefore, it's great to see the club president recognising the fine work of Brahim Diaz. As mentioned, offering a great reward to Brahim Diaz will be a huge incentive to other Real Madrid players to pledge their loyalty and give their all like Brahim has. Therefore, this contract extension would only serve to benefit Madrid.

Real Madrid are through to the quarterfinal of the Champions League, largely helped by Brahim Diaz' goal in the 1st leg of their tie with RB Leipzig in the round of 16.

Meanwhile, a contract extension has been struck within the Los Blancos academy.
