Real Madrid proved themselves to be the greatest team in history last night as they yet again demonstrated their killer mentality, coming from a goal behind to win the UEFA Champions League semifinal against Bayern Munich.
Super sub Joselu made the difference with two quick-fire goals but in truth, Real Madrid had been testing Manuel Neueur throughout the entire match. At least one goal was coming for a long time, with Vinicius Junior providing the attacking edge for Real Madrid.
As per FotMob stats, Vinicius Junior produced seven successful dribbles, had three shots on target and created two chances. A complete performance from the Brazilian which arguably deserved a goal. He didn't get the goal his performance warranted but it was a stellar performance from Vini, who is proving himself to be the best player in the world currently.
Real Madrid boss makes incredible Vinicius Junior claim after Bayern Munich drama
Carlo Ancelotti, who knows a thing or two about what it takes to be a world-class player, certainly thinks Vinicus Junior is the best player in the world. Or at least, he is deserving of the award which would grant him the title.
As per GSFN, Ancelotti has explicitly stated that his winner of this year's Ballon d'Or winner is Vinicius Junior. In his own words, Ancelotti said: “I think Vinícius is close to winning the Ballon d’Or.”
It is not the first time that Carlo Ancelotti has dubbed Vini to win this award and it certainly will not be the last. If last night's performance is anything to go by, then the Brazil international is the favourite to win the illustrious personal honour, for the first time in his career.
Vinicius Junior is the superstar for the big occasion as time and time again, he has stepped up to the mark when it matters the most. He is on track to win the treble with Real Madrid in what would be a terrific season for them. Facing Borussia Dortmund in the final of the UEFA Champions League provides a great opportunity for Vinicius Junior to win over those in charge.

Kylian Mbappe is expected to join Real Madrid in the summer as his contract expires. Therefore, there could be two superstars in the Real Madrid attack next season (three if Rodrygo stays). However, Mbappe's arrival will not hinder Vinicius Junior because instead, Ancelotti will have a plan to bring the best out of them both.
