Jude Bellingham has been the star of the show for Real Madrid this season. And he continued to deliver the goods, scoring a brace in the important match against Girona. Ultimately, Carlo Ancelotti's side won 4-0 despite having all of their natural centre-backs unavailable, which is a testament to the quality and attitude of this team.

From this position forward, one would expect Real Madrid to go on and win the La Liga title. But it was not an entirely positive match for Los Blancos either.

Bellingham appeared to pick up an injury on the day as well and had to be substituted off before the hour mark. Knowing the Englishman's mentality, he would not have left the pitch if there was any possibility of him carrying on.

Naturally, Real Madrid fans have been left worried. They already have way too many key players out injured. They cannot afford to see Bellingham's name added to that list.

Ancelotti provided an update on Bellingham's status after the game. And one could view his comments as positive if they wanted to. As reported by beIN Sports, the Real Madrid manager said in his press conference:

"Bellingham has a sprained ankle. They're going to assess him tomorrow, hopefully he can make it by Tuesday."

The fact that Ancelotti did not rule Bellingham out of the Champions League game against RB Leipzig in mid-week does suggest that the injury is not very serious at first glance. Nothing should be taken for granted though.

Let's see what the assessment is for Bellingham. One can only hope that he does not need to spend any significant time out on the sidelines. He is one of the most important parts of this team and it would be very difficult for Ancelotti to fill his void in the team, while also trying to somehow keep the defence tight.
