Injuries have been a major hurdle to overcome for Real Madrid this season. They seem to be caught in a constant chain of fitness issues. The players and the coaching team deserve immense credit for delivering results under these circumstances. And one can only hope that that remains the case until the end of the campaign, with the Champions League and La Liga still up for grabs.

Unfortunately for Real Madrid, it looks like they now have another fitness issue to deal with. And their forward line has been weakened further for at least the next few weeks.

As reported by AS, Joselu had been suffering from discomfort and tests have confirmed that he suffers from bone edema in his right ankle. He will be out for about three weeks.

Thus, Joselu looks set to miss some important games coming up in the next few weeks. Let's see if Ancelotti can adjust without having the option to play the only recognised striker in his squad.

Joselu is someone who has not started every game for Real Madrid. But his impact on and importance to this team cannot be underestimated.

Joselu has done well whenever given a chance and he has been one of the club's most effective players this season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 13 goals and provided 4 assists in 35 appearances and 1559 minutes of football.

That is an excellent return from the striker. So, Real Madrid can only hope that he is back available as soon as possible.

Joselu is currently on loan at Real Madrid from Espanyol. But after his strong performances this season, there has been talk of signing him on a permanent basis in the summer. When you are good enough, age is just a number.
