Real Madrid have been linked with some high-profile players lately. Kylian Mbappe might end up joining the club in the summer. In fact, Santiago Bernabeu seems like his most likely destination and by a convincing margin at that. On the other hand, Alphonso Davies could be a potential signing to solve the left-back situation, with his Bayern Munich future up in the air.
The right-back situation is one that Real Madrid need to have a look at too. Admittedly, Dani Carvajal has rediscovered his form this season, after it had looked like his career was on a downward trajectory.
Carvajal is 32 years of age though. Sooner or later, the club will need to find a replacement for the club legend. And it looks like they have one of the best right-backs in the game in their sights.
As tweeted by Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are monitoring Trent Alexander-Arnold's contract situation at Liverpool. His current deal expires in June of 2025 with no talks underway as of now. There is no indication of the player's views so far.
Real Madrid interested in Liverpool superstar
Trent has come through the youth ranks at Anfield and is viewed by many as a future Liverpool captain. Most fans expect him to remain at the club for the majority of his career if not all of it.
That being said, the chance to play for Real Madrid is enough to turn the head of most players. And following Jude Bellingham's success at Santiago Bernabeu, a lot of English players might be more open to the idea of moving to La Liga, a league in which they had not found a ton of success in the recent past.
Someone like Trent could be an excellent signing for Real Madrid. While question marks still remain over the defensive side of his game, he is one of the full-backs ever going forward.
