Real Madrid have one of the best right-backs in the world right now in the form of Dani Carvajal. He is a Ballon d'Or contender after winning the Champions League and EUROs last season. But he is also 32 years of age and it does not take Father Time long to catch up with players in their 30s. So, Los Blancos will surely be keeping an eye on long-term replacements for the Spanish legend.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is someone who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid for a long time. His current Liverpool contract runs out at the end of this season.

But what if Trent does not end up joining Real Madrid? Well, in that case, it looks like they have another Premier League right-back in their sights.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Real Madrid plan to move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro if their attempts to sign Trent from Liverpool fail to produce the desired outcome. A transfer fee of around €65 million is believed to be enough to encourage the North London club to get around the negotiating table.

Real Madrid have a great record when it comes to signing players from Tottenham Hotspur. Gareth Bale and Luka Modric both switched North London for the Spanish capital and enjoyed great success in the Royal White jersey. In the case of the latter, he continues to do so.

Of course, Real Madrid had been linked with Porro back when he was at Sporting Lisbon. Since then, he has proven himself in the Premier League as well.

Porro is not the only Tottenham Hotspur player Real Madrid are being linked with either. They need to strengthen at centre-back as well and are believed to hold an interest in Cristian Romero.
