As per the English outlet The Mirror, La Liga president Javier Tebas has claimed there is a "55-60 per cent" chance that Real Madrid finally land Kylian Mbappe this summer. When asked about the odds, Tebas replied: "55-60? Yes, I think so. Every day that passes and Mbappe does not sign the new contract with PSG, the percentage increases."

Certainly, the contract stand-off is significant to this story. For those who aren't aware, Kylian Mbappe only has until this summer remaining on his Parc des Princes contract. However, the player has an option to extend the contract by a further year. Since there are no signs of improvement with the contract negotiation, Real Madrid are beginning to feel more and more confident day-by-day.

Speaking on the financial situation, Tebas also confirmed that he feels Real Madrid are in the best place to land a monumental signing like Mbappe. His reasoning is that Real Madrid have not done the unthinkable in recent transfer windows, so they have the allocated funds to pull off a deal of this size.

Tebas' comments should come as music to Real Madrid fans' ears. After all, they have pushed and pushed to make this deal happen, so hopefully this summer will put an end to the long-drawn-out saga. It is understandable why Real Madrid want to land Kylian Mbappe as imagine how much Vinicius Junior would improve with another world-class option in the front-line. Exciting times ahead for Los Blancos.
