The Real Champs reported this week that Real Madrid were interested in signing Chelsea captain Reece James. It comes as no surprise, since this isn't the first time that Los Blancos have shown an intent to sign the full-back.

But just how could Real Madrid lineup next season, with this and other arrivals considered? Well, here is the truly frightening Real Madrid lineup with Reece James...

Real Madrid lineup with Reece James

GK: Thibaut Courtois. Coutois will be back and available next season, which would ease the transition of Reece James. Courtois was the number one goalkeeper for Chelsea when Reece James was coming through the youth ranks, so they would have worked together before, even at a limited capacity.

RB: Reece James. The potential summer signing would be an excellent addition to the Real Madrid back-line. With Dani Carvajal ageing, replacing the club legend with one of the best, if not THE best full-back in the world isn't a bad choice.

CB: Antonio Rudiger. Rudiger still has plenty to offer Real Madrid. It's ironic that the opening three players of this Real Madrid lineup with Reece James all have affiliations with Chelsea. Rudiger would love to work with James in the defence again.

CB: David Alaba. When David Alaba is back and fit, he will be in the starting lineup. An excellent world-class defender and smart business from Florentino Perez to bring him in.

LB: Alphonso Davies. If Reece James AND Alphonso Davies are signed, could Real Madrid boast the best defence in the world? Yes they could. And it's not unlikely that Alphonso Davies will sign, given the concrete links.
