Real Madrid, over the last few seasons, have adapted their transfer strategy excellently. It has been noticed that (with the exception of Kylian Mbappe) Los Blancos tend to sign younger players as opposed to players with greater pedigree. It has worked out for them on a few occasions, with the obvious examples being Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo.

It is believed that Jamal Musiala has the potential to be the next best Real Madrid signing as they are still keeping an eye on the Bundesliga sensation. However, it is noted that Florentino Perez has his eye on another Bundesliga youngster, who may be a more realistic and sensible option, all things considered.

Real Madrid locate their ideal Jamal Musiala alternative

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid are still monitoring the situation of Jamal Musiala as they recognise a great opportunity there. However, their focus appears to be signing Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, with the ultimate goal of reuniting him and Xabi Alonso at the Santiago Bernabeu one day.

Wirtz is a more realistic signing than Jamal Musiala. As great a player that Musiala is, pretty much every top European club dreams of signing him, so it could be a bidding war which Real Madrid would be better off avoiding. Currently, it is believed that Manchester City have the advantage of singing Jamal Musiala, as per Bayern Strikes.

After all, Wirtz is a younger player and has similar attributes to Musiala. This season, Florian Wirtz has been a key member of the Bundesliga champions elect Bayer Leverkusen. Under the Real Madrid legend and current Bayern Munich head coach Xabi Alonso, Wirtz has had a stellar season, scoring eight Bundesliga goals and providing 10 assists.

He is an excellent creative player who could bolster Real Madrid's midfield and attack ranks. After all, he is a versatile option which is always favoured by Carlo Ancelotti (and Alonso if he joins later down the line).

While this season Wirtz has mostly operated as the attacking midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen, he does have the ability to play as the centre forward if required and out on the left. Of course, those two positions probably won't be needed at Real Madrid given the expected arrival of Kylian Mbappe and the imminent arrival of Endrick but it's still a handy trait to have.
