Real Madrid monitor Sunderland star likened to Jude Bellingham
By Kian Long
One of Real Madrid's best transfers in recent history is Jude Bellingham. He proved that English stars still have what it takes to shine in La Liga. Well, another player from Sunderland could follow suit.
What's impressive about Real Madrid is not only their current success but their ability to build for the future. Make no mistake about it, Real Madrid are here for the future too, not just the present.
It remains to be seen how much longer Carlo Ancelotti is at the helm but even when he steps down, he will have left behind the right foundations and many young players, including Rodrygo, Endrick, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham, who all want to fight for the badge.
One more young player can't hurt...

According to a report from English outlet HITC, Real Madrid are one of two European super-clubs interested in signing Chris Rigg. Both Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are monitoring the 17-year-old, making great strides with Sunderland.
Already this season, Rigg has played five games for the Black Cats. In fact, he has started in their last three league outings, playing a key role in their unbeaten start to the season.
Sunderland play in the second tier of English football, however, if they continue their current run they could soon return to the Premier League. In fact, the English Championship shouldn't be looked at with upturned noses since it's where Jude Bellingham made a name for himself.
Speaking of Jude Bellingham, he will be aware of Chris Rigg's rise to stardom at Sunderland. After all, Rigg is a teammate of Jobe Bellingham, the younger brother to Jude.
At this stage, Real Madrid are simply monitoring Chris Rigg. Understandable, since the jump from the Championship to playing for Real Madrid is quite large. However, Rigg is showing every potential to become a world-beater, so he is certainly a player for Real Madrid to continue scouting.
Rigg plays as a centre midfielder. This is a position which Real Madrid are currently depleted in, given their injury concerns and of course, Toni Kroos retiring. Depending on the future of Luka Modric, Real Madrid could be in the market for a new midfielder come 2025.
The Sunderland teenager is likened to Jude Bellingham already. This is not a surprise, considering Jude Bellingham set a new standard for English midfielders before joining Real Madrid, let alone after.
