Real Madrid could do with more options going forward. Of course, Vinicius Jr recently scored a hattrick against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final, Rodrygo has been in the form of his life in recent months, Joselu has exceeded all expectations and Brahim is more than good enough to be a contributor.

At the same time, one cannot overlook the number of injuries Real Madrid have been dealing with this season. Also, Joselu is only on loan till the end of the season.

Amid all this, it looks like Real Madrid have the opportunity to sign a Liverpool legend. But it is one they might pass up on.

As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Real Madrid have been offered the chance to sign Roberto Firmino from Al-Ahli in January. But they might resist the opportunity to do so.

Firmino is a Liverpool legend and played a major part in the successes Jurgen Klopp's side have enjoyed over the years. He departed the club in the summer though in order to join Al-Ahli.

That is a move that has not worked out for Liverpool. He has managed to score just three goals for the club since then, failing to even come close to expectations.

Firmino has never been a prolific goalscorer although he is one of the best in the world when it comes to improving those around him. He is 32 years of age and does not seem like someone Real Madrid would have a lot of interest in signing.

Karim Benzema himself is being linked with a move away this month. It remains to be seen if that materialises or not. If the opportunity is there, should Real Madrid consider bringing him back on a short-term deal or is it a chapter that should be considered as closed?
