Real Madrid do not have a deep squad at this point in time but it is quite clear that Carlo Ancelotti has found a way to make the most out of the options that he does have. That is the main reason why despite having so many injuries to key players and not properly replacing Karim Benzema in the summer, Los Blancos are on the verge of winning La Liga and are heavy favourites to lift their 15th Champions League trophy.

The players deserve a ton of credit for stepping up and playing whatever role has been asked of them by the coach. That being said, there are some who have not featured much this season.

Dani Ceballos is one such player. The Spaniard had proven to be a difference-maker last season and ended up signing a four-year contract extension in the summer on the back of it.

Unfortunately, minutes have been hard to come by for Ceballos this season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made 22 appearances and played 571 minutes of football in total in the ongoing campaign.

It is not hard to understand why there is speculation surrounding the future of Ceballos. But even if he was to leave Santiago Bernabeu, the Spaniard might still remain in the capital.

As reported by El Desmarque (via Football Espana), Ceballos already has a pre-agreement in place to sign with Atletico Madrid. But this will mean little unless Real Madrid can agree a transfer fee with their rivals.

At 27 years of age, Ceballos is in his prime and needs to be playing regular football. But with players like Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Arda Guler, Jude Bellingham and Brahim Diaz being options for Ancelotti in midfield, it is no wonder that minutes have been hard to come by for him.
