The squad that Real Madrid are building for the future is something special The roster is full of world-class talent all over the pitch, a number of whom are considered the best in the world at their respective positions. It is nearly perfect. However, there are just a few pieces of the puzzle that are still missing.

One position in particular that will soon need some reassessing is right-back. Now while Dani Carvajal is still playing at a high level at 32 years of age and is expected to be a Ballon d'Or contender next time around, the Spaniard isn't getting any younger and sooner or later, Real Madrid will need to find a replacement for the club legend.

Now while there are a number of quality right-backs in the world who could potentially fill the shoes of Carvajal, there is one in particular who Real Madrid seem to have their eyes on. And a move to Santiago Bernabeu might not be as improbable as it once looked.

As reported by the Independent, Jude Bellingham has developed a strong friendship with Trent Alexander-Arnold. To the point that many around the squad are now talking as if it could swing the Liverpool player going to Real Madrid when his contract at Anfield runs out next year.

Trent is a player that fans have linked with a dream move to Real Madrid for many years now. Given that the English international is one of the best right-backs in the world, Los Blancos' rumoured interest in signing him makes a ton of sense.

It still remains unclear how much a transfer move for Trent would cost this summer. It is much more likely that Real Madrid would try to sign him for nothing a year later.

Trent only has one year remaining on his current Liverpool contract. And Real Madrid have a fantastic recent history of signing world-class players as free agents. Kylian Mbappe, Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba are some names on that list already.
