Real Madrid had a pretty memorable 2023/24 season. In the end, they lifted three trophies - La Liga, the Champions League and the Supercopa de España. Ultimately it was a collective display which granted the greatest club in the world access to three trophies. However, throughout the collective displays, there were some individual moments of brilliance which proved to be the difference.

One of those individual performances is without a doubt, Joselu coming off the bench to score a brace in the second leg of the Champions League semifinal. At that point in the game, Real Madrid were destined to be eliminated from the competition by Bayern Munich, however, the loaned striker came off the bench to rewrite history.

Now, Joselu is coming towards the end of his Real Madrid contract. The question remains, what will happen for the Spanish striker and where will he play next season? Well, according to reports, his destiny has already been sealed for next season...

Real Madrid sell Champions League hero for €1.5m says Fabrizio Romano

According to an update from Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter), Joselu will leave Real Madrid this summer. It is believed that Real Madrid will activate the €1.5m option to buy Joselu but he will then be sold for the same price. His next club will be Qatari side Al Gharafa and he has already agreed a two year deal.

From Real Madrid's perspective, it will be sad to see Joselu leave. However, it was a decision which was waiting to happen. After all, he was simply a short-term solution to a long-term problem for Real Madrid. The club has signed Endrick and Kylian Mbappe who will solidify the long-term future of the club, meaning Joselu had minimal chances of making it to the starting lineup next year.

Now, Joselu will join an emerging league, having conquered Europe already. No doubt about it, his name will be written into the Real Madrid history books forever.
