Real Madrid superstar has suffered another injury

Real Madrid have had to deal with a long list of injury problems throughout the course of the campaign. There have been quite a few long-term ones, like that of Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao and David Alaba. And numerous short and medium-term ones, which have meant that Carlo Ancelotti has never really had his best squad available to him.

Despite the circumstances, Real Madrid have continued to deliver the results on the pitch. The players and the coaching deserve immense credit, not just for their quality but for their mentality as well, not allowing the performance levels to drop even when the odds are stacked against them.

Real Madrid were handed another injury scare ahead of the game against Atletico. Vinicius Junior had to be replaced in the starting line-up after suffering an injury in the warm-up just before kickoff.

It was Brahim who replaced him and he did produce a fantastic performance, even scoring Real Madrid's goal in what turned out to be a 1-1 draw. But naturally, there were concerns around the situation of Vinicius, who has already dealt with a few injury problems this season.

As reported by AS, according to Anton Meana of Spanish radio station Cadena SER, the treatment Vinicius received relieved some of the pain. The Brazilian is expected to be available to face Girona.

On the other hand, as tweeted by Arancha Rodriguez, Vinicius' cervical discomfort is serious. Whether he can be there on Saturday will depend on his evolution.

Of course, the upcoming game against Girona is a very important one. These are the top two teams in the league right now and there is not a lot separating them either. It remains to be seen whether Vinicius recovers in time to feature or not. The good news is that this does not seem to be a long-term issue.
