Real Madrid have been very clear about their transfer strategy in recent years. Every step seems to be measured well ahead of time. And if their top targets are unavailable or choose to join other clubs, Los Blancos do not settle by bringing in other players. Instead, they prefer to wait until the right player becomes available.

This strategy has served them very well. Even though many midtable Premier League clubs have spent more on transfer fees than Real Madrid, Los Blancos have remained one of the best in Europe, winning two of the last three Champions League titles.

Of course, the players and the coaches deserve all the credit in the world. But so does their recruitment team and think tank.

One player who has appeared to be high on their wish list for a few years now is Alphonso Davies. It looks like Bayern Munich are open to parting ways with him now as well, having failed to agree a contract extension with the Canadian left-back.

It is believed that Bayern Munich are looking for a transfer fee of around €50 million for Davies. He has only one more year left on his current contract with the German club and is widely expected to join Real Madrid next summer, if he did end up becoming a free agent.

As reported by El Debate, Real Madrid's sporting management is very clear about things and its philosophy. They will not increase the offer for Davies. It maintains a maximum transfer proposal of €35 million.

Real Madrid have already signed one top-level defender after his contract with Bayern Munich ran out in the form of David Alaba. Now, it looks like they might be looking to repeat that trick with Davies next summer.
