Real Madrid have a busy decision-making period ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. Carlo Ancelotti and Florentino Perez will be having a serious think about their current squad because as world-class as some players are, there are some fringe players who would benefit from leaving the club.

In the middle of that scale are those players who are showing exceptional potential but they aren't quite at the level just yet. For those young players, the best course of action could be for Real Madrid to loan out those players in the promise of game-time.

One Real Madrid youngster who is tipped to have a quality future is Arda Guler. The Turkey international was signed by Real Madrid in 2023, after also being shown interest by Barcelona. In truth, Guler would have hoped for more minutes in his debut Real Madrid season but so far, he has only played 31 minutes of La Liga action this season (WhoScored).

Real Madrid youngster will be loaned out on one ambitious condition

According to a report from Planeta, Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler has requested that he signs for a club on loan, only if they are playing in the Champions League next season.

This leads nicely to Arda Guler potentially signing for Bayer Leverkusen on loan since Xabi Alonso is the master in getting the best out of young players (Fichajes).

Arda Guler is an exceptional player, this goes without saying. However, as mentioned, he has played just half an hour of domestic league action this season. Therefore, for Guler to request the pinnacle of European football and nothing else could begin to raise alarm bells about his attitude.

Perhaps he is a high-achiever and there is nothing to be concerned about. If anything, fans would argue that Guler has earned the right to first-team football for a Champions League club, given how he has impressed in his limited minutes so far this season.

However, I do not think it's a good idea for Guler to close himself off to non-Champions League sides signing him on loan. After all, he will be developing at the club for a limited time and the pool for development is much wider at teams competing outside of the Champions League.

I don't want to say "get what you're given," but Ancelotti has to be stern about this, in case he cannot meet Guler's request.
