Earlier today, Fabrizio Romano dropped the news that Real Madrid fans were waiting for - Toni Kroos is set to extend his current contract, remaining a Real Madrid player for at least one more year after this season.

So, a masterclass in efficiency has been pulled off by Florentino Perez and the Bernabeu higher-ups yet again. However, the club president is not done there, as he would like to keep ahold of two more club legends.

After Toni Kroos, Real Madrid want to extend two more club legend contracts

According to AS (via Managing Madrid), Real Madrid are set to extend the contracts of Lucas Vazquez and Nacho Fernandez. The two Real Madrid legends are due to run out of contract at the end of the season, but it appears they have impressed enough this campaign to warrant an extension on their current deals, news which will be welcomed by the Bernabeu faithful, for sure.

This season, Vazquez has started 10 La Liga matches and Nacho has started 12 La Liga matches. This is a welcomed return by both players, who will be the first to admit they are no longer at the top of the pecking order. Still, they are valuable squad players who can do a job when needed.

In truth, every team needs those players who are happy to not play every single minute, but they are optimistic about making an impression whenever they're given the chance. This mentality has been noted by Perez, who knows exactly what it takes to build a great club, those players not going unnoticed.

The conditions of Vazquez' and Nacho's contract extensions remain to be seen but it is believed they will sign one-year deals, just like Kroos. This is a similar strategy applied to club legends of the past, so it's great to see the tradition still in play in 2024.
