Real Madrid would like to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool. It is likely, though, that Los Blancos will wait until 2025 to sign the Englishman, when he will be available on a free deal after his current Liverpool contract expires. This is a common practice for Real Madrid and a way of cost-cutting in the transfer market.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has a great friendship with Real Madrid sensation Jude Bellingham. It was the two of them spending time together after EURO 2024 on vacation, even posting pictures together on social media, which led Real Madrid fans into a frenzy about a potential deal being struck. But the truth of the matter is that friendships in football have no correlation to transfer ongoings.

However, news has still reached the Liverpool camp that Real Madrid are interested in signing Trent Alexander-Arnold. Since the defender-slash-midfielder is a popular figure at Liverpool, he is often at the heart of joked in the Liverpool camp. This was no different, as his Liverpool teammate Luis Diaz outrightly mentioned to Trent about him potentially joining Real Madrid.

In the video which is circulating on social media, Luis Diaz says to Trent Alexander-Arnold, "Real Madrid, ciao?" Ciao meaning "hello" or "goodbye" in informal Italian. To which, Trent awkwardly laughs, does not respond (at least in the video) and walks a little bit faster than the group, consisting of him, Diaz and Darwin Nunez.

Of course, this video is down to interpretation. Even describing Trent's laugh as "awkward" is an interpretation. However, it is rather clear that Trent is at least uncomfortable to be asked the question.

Sticking to the facts, it is known within the Liverpool camp that Trent could join Real Madrid. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been mentioned.

Do you think Trent Alexander-Arnold will ultimately join Real Madrid from Liverpool?
