Real Madrid have made a lot of profit from their academy in recent years. Especially this summer, Real Madrid have made a lot of money from the Fabrica kids - players who have stayed through the ranks at Castilla and developed into professional football players, and then moved to other clubs to make their case as the next big thing.
From Nico Paz to Gonzalo Garcia, there have been a few big academy players who have then moved on for hefty amounts of money. This could have been a move after they became first-teamers, or were sold after being brought back in. As long as they were from La Fabrica, they count.
These are the ten most expensive academy players in club history.

10. Raúl de Tomás to Benfica - €20 million
Raúl de Tomás was one of the most underrated strikers in Spain for quite some time. There were many seasons when he was touted as a player the club could bring back to keep as a second striker.
The player went on to have brilliant spells for Cordoba, Espanyol and Rayo Vallecano, and became one of the most underrated strikers in the country. He is still playing in Madrid for Vallecano - although he is no longer the player he used to be.
9. Alvaro Morata to Juventus - €22 million
Morata, the only player who makes the list twice, was initially sold to Juventus for €22 million in 2014. He then went on to score against his former club in the Champions League semi-final to ruin a potential El Clasico final.
He went on to play for a number of different clubs, including rivals Atletico Madrid. More on him later.
8. Jesé to PSG - €25 million
Jesé is one of the most talented players on this list - which says a lot, considering this list is full of talent already. When he was playing for Real Madrid, he was one of the best young players in Spain, but injuries forced his career to shift to a downwards trajectory. He left Real Madrid in 2016, and was never quite the same player.
7. Victor Munoz to Liverpool - €20 million + €5 million in add-ons
The first of Real Madrid's sell-on clause players to appear on this list. Munoz only played a handful of games for the club, but improving so much made sure that teams like Osasuna would call and ask about him. After that, a move to Liverpool followed the Spaniard earlier this season, and Real Madrid acquired 50% of his fee.
6. Marcos Llorente to Atletico Madrid - €30 million
Llorente had a really good time as a defensive midfielder at the club, but was always looking for opportunities due to Casemiro's dominance in midfield at the time. A move came eventually, but to rivals Atletico Madrid, who have since turned him into a right-back.
5. Sergio Reguilon to Tottenham Hotspur - €30 million
When Reguilon first came to the first team, he looked like one of the best prospects to have made the jump from Castilla to the first team. A loan move to Sevilla further strengthened his grip as one of the best young full-backs in the league, before moving to Tottenham for €30 million.
4. Gonzalo Garcia to Fulham - €40 million
The most recent sale on this list, Garcia has joined Alvaro Arbeloa at Fulham for €40 million with a 30% sell-on clause. One of the best players to come out of the academy in recent years, Garcia deserved far more opportunities than what was given to him last season, but he left a big impression on the fanbase.
3. Achraf Hakimi to Inter - €43 million
Hakimi played a lot at right-back for Real Madrid when Dani Carvajal was suffering with a heart problem in 2018, but it was not enough for the player to stay at the club beyond that period in time.
A move to Borussia Dortmund helped, before Inter came in and signed the Moroccan right-back for €43 million. He then went on to play for Paris Saint-Germain, where he still is the starting right-back.
2. Nico Paz to Como - €60 million
One of the best deals Real Madrid have done in recent years - however bittersweet it may be - Paz left Real Madrid to join Como around two years ago. However, this summer, the Italian club signed the remaining 50% rights of the player, in an overall package that was worth €60 million. Real Madrid have a buy-back clause of €80 million on the Argentine midfielder.
1. Alvaro Morata to Chelsea - €80 million
The most expensive academy player to ever be sold by Real Madrid - Morata left for Chelsea a season after re-joining Real Madrid for a historic €80 million, a deal which has now become a brilliant piece of business from Los Blancos, as the Spaniard never really reached the heights of an €80 million player at the West London club.
